Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas now operates a 3 day or 4 day itinerary out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas. This ship has recently been “amplified” with all kinds of new toys and venues: waterslides, ice skating, rock climbing wall, virtual reality trampoline, escape room, and flowrider surf simulator! The short itineraries and close proximity to Orlando lends itself perfectly to a side trip to Universal Studios! In fact, Royal Caribbean even offers a package that includes both!
Our trip started out in Universal Studios for 3 nights and then we headed to Port Canaveral to start our 4 night cruise to the Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s newly refurbished private island!
Upon boarding we found our cabins were already available. Royal Caribbean does such a great job of allowing families connecting rooms without too much of an upcharge. Our cabin had a Queen and the kids were connected to us with twin beds.
Our first port stop brought us to Nassau, Bahamas. As we have visited Nassau several times before and already visited Atlantis, we decided to try something new. We signed up for a tour with Clifton Heritage National Park, where they picked us up from the cruise ship, gave us a tour, took us to a very beautiful secluded beach and served us lunch!
The next day was the highlight of the cruise! We arrived in Perfect Day at CocoCay. We had pre purchased tickets for the waterpark (highly recommend doing this as they are MUCH cheaper). As soon as you exit the ship onto the pier, you noticed the waterpark! Everything here really did make the perfect day. Between the waterpark, the beautiful beaches, the all included meals (and drinks if you have a drink package!), this was an incredibly relaxing day!
This vacation was the perfect mix of activity and relaxation for my family! I am also a travel agent and would love to help you plan your trip and I don’t charge a fee: yb*******@gm***.com .
