It’s more than a luxury hotel. There is just something I can’t put my finger on when I visit. It is 5-star service without the stuffiness. I feel like the Broadmoor has found the perfect combination of upscale amenities and comfort. Here are some tips when you visit:
Look for special packages – You can almost always find a special at the Broadmoor. They don’t publicize their packages openly, but they often come with Kids Eat Free or free activities.
There is always a pool open – In the summer, there is the famous outdoor infinity pool and slides, but in the winter, you can swim at the indoor pool or at the outdoor lap lanes and whirlpools.
Best Breakfast Buffet – Their breakfast buffet at the Lake Terrace Dining room is the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention a great dinner that kids will love at the The Golden Bee (an English pub relocated from England).
Endless Activities – Paddle boating, canoes, horseback riding…not to mention indoor activities such as bowling, video games, and classes. At Thanksgiving, a free winter wonderland activity extravaganza opens to all guests.
The buildings vary widely –
- The Broadmoor West has its own entrance, restaurants, and snack bar. There is also a fire pit outside for roasting s’mores! One half of this building has been renovated most recently and is the only building with Queen beds instead of Double beds. The other half of the building is still original and contains Double beds.
- The Broadmoor Main is original and the oldest. It is the most central to shopping, the outdoor pool, and restaurants.
- The Broadmoor South is closest to the Golf Course and indoor pool.
